PASAY, Philippines—Jaime Lim claimed the gold medal for the Philippines in the Southeast Asian Games women’s karatedo event at the World Trade Center on Monday.
Lim defeated Ceyco Zefanya of Indonesia, 2-1, in the gold medal match.
Lim’s conquest came 34 years after her father, Philippine basketball legend Samboy, also won the gold for the Philippines in the SEA Games men’s basketball event.
“He’s just my inspiration. I’m doing it for him,” Jamie Lim said.
