5 championship bouts in Manila on Feb. 15

DAVAO CITY — The Deadly Combination Boxing Promotion will have five championship bouts on Feb. 15 at the Manila Arena in Sta. Ana, Manila.

The five title fights are between former World Boxing Organization world flyweight champion Sho Kimura (18W-3L-2D, 11KO) of Japan against WBO world minimumweight champion Merlito “Tiger” Sabillo (27W-7L-1D, 13KO) of Bacolod for the Asia Boxing Federation light flyweight title; undefeated Eric Pen (5W-0L-0D, 4KO) of Cambodia/USA against Alexander “The Black Horse” Bajawa (43W-10L-4D, 16KO) of Indonesia for the World Boxing Association Asia heavyweight title;

Prabhjot “Punjabi Lion” Singh (8W-4L-1D, 7KO) of Bulacan against Nelson “Mr. Fantastic” Gulpe (8W-13L-OD, 3KO) of Surigao for the ABF middleweight title; current WBC International female super flyweight champion Hee Jung Yuh (22W-3L-0D, 11KO) of South Korea will be challenged by Kanyanat Chotchun (2W-1L-0D, 1KO) of Thailand for the WBC International female super flyweight title; Yuttana Wongda (14W-25L-0D, 10KO) of Thailand will fight Dinh Hoang Truong (1W-0L-0D) of Vietnam.

“It is our initial boxing promotion for this year. We will still have many promotions to come,” said promoter Brico Santig of Highland International Boxing Promotions.

Santig is co-promoting it with China’s best boxing promoter Liu Gang of Max Power Promotions and Benguet’s top promoter Darwin Miller Depay of DMAD Boxing Promotion. Aside from the five title bouts, also featured are 12 fights including four foreign fighters.

They are Ayati Sailike of China vs. Michael Escobia of Paranaque, Sung Jin Kwak of South Korea vs. Dennis “Fearless” Padua of Nueva Ecija, Huu Toan Le of Vietnam vs. Benjie Bartolome of Benguet, and Yeerjialahasi Laayibieke of China vs. Geboi Mansalayao of Davao del Sur. (PNA)
