INGLEWOOD — Without Sixers big man Joel Embiid, the Los Angeles Clippers made easy work out of Philadelphia, 110-98, on Wednesday night at the Intuit Dome.

Norman Powell led the Clippers’ charge with 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting while James Harden penciled 18 and six dimes for Los Angeles, which shot a high 42.1 percent from beyond the arc (12-of-28).

After a 51-51 deadlock at halftime, the Clippers, hooping at home in their brand new $2 billion arena, broke the contest wide open with a 33-17 third quarter run. The Sixers pushed back with a 30-point fourth quarter but that outburst wasn’t enough to reverse the tide.

Dealing with a knee issue, Embiid was cleared to play by the Sixers medical staff but he still sat out to begin serving a three-game suspension for his part in an altercation with a sports columnist inside the Philly locker room last November 5.

Without the former league MVP, Paul George and Kelly Oubre Jr led the Sixers with 18 points apiece.
