December 8, 2019 – It was again heartbreak for Philippine football as the women’s team fall to Myanmar 1-2 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
It was actually a close affair in the first 45 minutes of the match with no one yet to score a goal.
Quinley Quezada sparked hopes for the Malditas as she opened the scoring in the 57th minute of the game.
July Kyaw however scored 20 minutes later to level the match 1-1 in the 77th minute.
It only took Myanmar two minutes to take the lead as Yee Yee O scored the final dagger at the 79th minute which goes past Inna Palacios’ guard.
The Philippines will end the campaign fourth overall, with Myanmar taking the bronze medal.
