Women’s Arnis: Myanmar, Philippines finish on top

December 3, 2019 – Myanmar and the Philippines emerge as the best in the anyo form of arnis at the Angeles University Foundation Gym.

Phoo Eian Dray of Myanmar took the gold medal for the traditional open weapon category, beating three other competitors with 9.70 points.

Ryssa Jezzel Sanchez of the Philippines took the silver with 9.60 points, with Cambodia’s Sou Mala Eng and Vietnam’s Nguyen Phuong Linh both ending with the bronze medal.

Mary Allin Aldeguer added a gold medal for the Philippines in the non-traditional open weapon category.

Aldeguer finishes with 9.63 points which is enough to put her at the top.

Trieu Thi Hoai of Vietnam placed second after earning 9.57 points in her routine.

Myanmar’s Min Naing L Sheilar and Cambodia’s Eng both take the bronze after getting 9.37 points each.
