LOS ANGELES — With an already stacked line-up, one whose won-lost record is currently at 33-15 and third place in the loaded Western Conference, the Los Angeles Clippers are angling for more talent leading up to the February 8 trading deadline.

Per multiple reports, the Steve Ballmer-owned franchise is looking at prying veteran PJ Washington from the Charlotte Hornets.

Washington, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound wing, will be tasked to specifically help the Clippers man the center spot when Los Angeles plays small ball. Although he is primarily a wing, Washington has a 7-foot-3 wingspan that would allow him to protect the rim.

Through 42 games this season, with 17 starts, Washington has averaged 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per outing. Although not a knockdown three-point shooter at 33 percent, Washington hits field golas at a rate of 45.2 percent overall.

A product of the University of Kentucky, a blue blood program, Washington was taken as the 12th pick in the 2019 NBA draft. He was in the same class as Cameron Johnson (Brooklyn Nets), Zion Williamson (New Orleans Pelicans) and Coby White (Chicago Bulls).
