MANILA — Acer, through its Predator gaming computer line, will be providing the computers that will be used for the inaugural Southeast Asian Games esports event from Dec. 4-10 at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
Sue Lim, general manager of Acer Philippines, announced this in an event at the Romulo Cafe in Makati on Thursday.
“It’s only fitting,” Lim told the Philippine News Agency.
“We’ve had several achievements for Predator branding worldwide. We’re one of the biggest gaming brands, and in the Philippines, we just achieved the number one status,” he added.
The latest Predator computers will be used for the DOTA 2 and StarCraft 2 titles for the esports competition of the 30th SEA Games which the country will host from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11.
“[They’re] powered by Nvidia RTX graphic cards and Intel Core I7 processors,” Lim described the specs of the computers to be used, assuring that they are of the highest quality.
Lim also expressed confidence that Sibol, the Philippine team to the SEA Games e-sports tourney, will dominate the games.
“I really believe in the power of Filipinos, especially in gaming,” she further said. (PNA)
