MANILA — Alab Pilipinas pulled off a win against the Gilas Pilipinas Men, 93-89, in their tuneup game at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City on Monday night.
Alab held an 89-83 cushion with 1:29 to play in the closed door battle, which was enough for the team to hold on, as the Gilas Men came up with a mini run to come to within three with 19.8 seconds left in the game.
Alab sealed the win on a free throw by Nick King.
Following Gilas Men’s win last week, the two teams have split their two-game series.
Gilas Men is gearing up for the 30th Southeast Asian Games while Alab is currently preparing for the Asean Basketball League (ABL) season.
The Philippines will host the SEA Games from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11 this year while the 10th ABL season will start on Nov. 16. (PNA)
