December 11, 2019 – The Philippines clinched the last available bronze medal in the Southeast Asian Games as they win the beach handball event at the Subic Tennis Court in Zambales.
It was a virtual battle for second place for the hosts and opponents Thailand, which also happens as the last matchup for the entire biennial meet.
The Thais however, showed more superiority as they eked out the Filipinos with a 19-18, 21-16 outing in just two sets in the best-of-three matchup.
The Philippines ranked third in the table, with two wins and two losses each, the wins coming from Indonesia and Singapore.
Vietnam took the gold medal after sweeping the Indonesians in two sets, 19-16, 20-10.
