December 8, 2019 – Billy Muhammad Islam wins another gold medal for Indonesia in the men’s masters event of bowling at the Coronado Lanes in StarMall EDSA Shaw.
Islam secured the win over compatriot Ryan Leonard Lalisang, who earn the right to face him after winning the stepladder semifinals.
Islam enjoyed a twice-to-beat advantage as the top seed, but Lalisang has other ideas in mind.
Lalisang scored 216 pinfalls, compared to just 205 by Islam to take the first round and erase the advantage.
With his back against the wall, Islam matched Lalisang’s best and scored 232 pinfalls. in the second round, while the latter scored only 224 pinfalls.
Singapore’s Muhammad Jaris Go completed the podium, winning the bronze.
Go earlier lost to Lalisang in the stepladder semis, 191 to 204.
