December 9, 2019 – Josie Gabuco and Nesthy Petecio lead the Filipina boxers to glory with the win inside the PICC Forum at Pasay.
Gabuco earned the gold medal in the women’s light flyweight category after defeating Indonesia’s Endang in three rounds.
Gabuco and Endang went the distance, with the judges’ decision in favor of the Filipino boxer.
Nesthy Petecio battled the final women’s boxing gold against Myanmar’s Nwe Ni Oo.
Petecio mauled her opponent, earning her a unanimous victory and the gold medal for the country.
Irish Magno meanwhile settled for silver after losing the flyweight division finals to Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Tam.
Sudaporn Seesondee’s season came to being, with the Thai denying Filipino boxer Riza Pasuit a gold medal.
Pasuit loses the bout against Seesondee with a split decision from the judges.
