Opening ceremony officiated by Dato Mohd Radzi Manan, Chairman of MYBOS, marks new chapter for Derani Yachts with yacht viewings and community celebration.
Pangkor Marina, Malaysia – 2nd September 2025 — Derani Yachts has officially opened its new Malaysia branch office at
Pangkor Marina with a ceremony officiated by Dato Mohd Radzi Manan,
Chairman of the Malaysian International Boat Show (MYBOS). The event was
attended by distinguished guests including Dato Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu
and their spouses, Datuk Normah Hanum and Datin Seri Dr Nomee.
“It is an auspicious day, because I see a development that is very
encouraging for the marine industry in Malaysia,” said Dato Radzi. “Wherever
Mr. Håkan is present, I see business — that is always a good sign for our
 industry.”
Guests were also
invited to experience sea trials and viewings of the Axopar 29 Cross Cabin
and Greenline 40, two premium yachts that combine innovative design with
exceptional comfort on the water. These showcases demonstrated the style,
performance, and lifestyle that define Derani Yachts’ portfolio, while
reflecting the growing appetite for luxury yachting in Malaysia.
Derani
Yachts Founder and Managing Director, Håkan Lange, reflected on the
company’s long ties to Malaysia. “We started selling boats here in the
1990s, so in many ways this feels like coming home,” he said. “This
industry is all about people — the partners we work with and the clients we
serve. We bring the products, we team up with good people, and together we
 continue living the dream.”
The
celebration continued with a waterfront BBQ, where guests, clients, and
local community members came together to enjoy food, conversation, and
fellowship. The relaxed setting highlighted the lifestyle that lies at the
heart of Derani Yachts’ philosophy — building not just business, but friendships
and communities around the shared passion for boating.
Dato
Radzi emphasized the importance of collaboration for Malaysia’s marine sector. “The
marine leisure industry in Malaysia still lacks sufficient support services,
and we must work together as a community to develop this sector. With new
shows, better facilities, and strong industry players, we can grow vibrant
communities from Langkawi in the north to Johor in the south and beyond
 to East Malaysia.”
The
new Pangkor Marina office expands Derani Yachts’ presence across Southeast
Asia, joining its Phuket headquarters and partner representation in Singapore.
The branch will offer yacht sales, brokerage, and sea trials, supported by
after-sales services and a growing portfolio of international brands.
“Everyone else in the region is cutting down, but I think this is the
right time to go the opposite direction with strategic partnerships,” Lange added. “We’re already
planning to expand further, including hopes to open in Indonesia before the end
 of this year.”
With
strong partners, supportive communities, and the natural beauty of Malaysia’s
cruising grounds, Derani Yachts’ newest branch signals confidence in the
region’s future as a vibrant yachting destination
