Jericho Cruz tallied 24 points to help Guam mount a 20-point victory over Hong Kong, 103-83, during the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers in Amman, Jordan.
The NLEX Road Warrior came out with guns ablazing tallying 19 points in the first half. Cruz finished with 24 points, seven assists, four rebounds and three steals.
“We kind of started slow– but we picked it up,” said Cruz. “Hong Kong gave us a good run but as a team, we stayed together and played it out.”
Curtis Owen Washington also came off the bench with 16 points while Daren Henchanova had 4 points but controlled the game by grabbing 15 rebounds and dishing out eight assists.
Guam plays Hong Kong again on July 15.
