Flores TKOs Diaz in 1st round

DAVAO CITY – Super flyweight Judy Flores of Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte continued his winning streak with a technical knockout over Francis Jay Diaz of Cagayan de Oro on the1st round of their battle on Monday at the Robinson’s Mall in General Santos City.

It was the 9th win and 5th knockout by Flores without loss, while Diaz suffered his 3rd setback against eight wins and one draw.

The 21-year-old Flores earlier beat Jovanie Tagusi of Sarangani by a unanimous decision to win the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation super flyweight title last Sept. 5 in Polomolok.

Meanwhile, super bantamweight Johnriel Castino of Bohol TKO’d Jerry Pabila of Cotabato in the 3rd round.

The other results: welterweight Jhunrick Carcedo of Davao City knockout Jose Ocampo of Sarangani in the 3rd round; super flyweight RV Feniega won by majority decision over Jelo Vacalso; Mark Antonio won by KO Arnold Batingal in the 3rd round.

Guillame Lorenzo retired in the 3rd round Kim Lindog; Adam Abdulhamid TKO’d in the 3rd round Richard Betos; Richie Mepranom knocked out in the 2nd round Jetli Purisima; Michael Casama knocked out in the 4th round Jun Eraham; Ian Sampan TKO’d Rogelio Boyles in the 2nd round. (PNA)
