PHOENIX — After a star turn at Purdue University during his college career, Robbie Hummel eventually made it to the NBA after the Minnesota Timberwolves took him as the 58th overall pick of the 2012 draft.
Unfortunately, a series of injuries robbed his pro career of longevity. He played overseas in Italy and Russia before eventually calling it quits in October 2017.
So what is the former great Boilermaker up to these days?
The 6-foot-8 forward and 2-time All-American has since quietly settled in the broadcast booth where he is gifting basketball fans with his in-depth knowledge of the game.
Sports on Air got a sampling of that high basketball IQ when Big Ten analyst and Fox Sports contributor broke down the NCAA finals match-up between his alma mater Purdue and defending champions Wildcats from the University of Connecticut.
Although Hummer didn’t win a chip in college or the pro ranks, he captured a gold medal in the 2019 FIBA 3×3 World Tour.
