The present state of professional sports in the Philippines will be discussed during the 1-day Professional Sports Summit to be held on September 29 on a virtual platform.
In an interview with TOPS Usapang Sports on Air forum which was aired via Sports on Air’s social media accounts, Games and Amusements Board (GAB) chairman Abraham “Baham” Mitra.explains what they can be look forward in this event.
“Medyo ma-e-Sports ito at marami tayong magsishare. And it not just bungad ng pandemic, marami nang learning experiences, hindi lang ng GAB kundi ang iba’t ibang stakeholders and leagues, may mga challenges na hinaharap nila and they will be sharing all of these. Hindi tayo pupuwede magsabi na maghihintay na tayo pagbalik sa normal, hindi natin kung kailan mangyayari niyan at sinasabi nga ni Sir Quinito (Henson), mabuti ang GAB doon sa situation at inembrace natin itong oportunidad na lalong maraming mag-professional (leagues).”, Mitra said.
With the theme, “Proffessional Sports Through the Pandemic: The Now and Future Decisions”, the virtual webinar will highlight some of the professional leagues’ and fight promoters experience in handling their events, how they follow strict health and safety protocols, and how did they cope up with the ongoing pandemic.
GAB has invited some of the top officials from professional leagues and promoters sanctioned by the agency. Also joining are some of the movers and shakers in the e-Sports industry in the Philippines.
