Utah Jazz forward Kyle Filipowski was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2025 NBA Summer League, as announced by the league on Tuesday. He also secured a spot on the All-Summer League First Team.

Filipowski, preparing for his second NBA season, appeared in 72 games in his rookie year for Utah. He posted averages of 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. A second-round pick (No. 34 overall) after two seasons at Duke, his college tenure culminated in a consensus second-team All-American selection following his sophomore year.

During the Summer League, Filipowski competed in six games across Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. He averaged 23.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.0 block per game in just over 27 minutes of play. Notably, in the three games held in Las Vegas, he elevated his output to 29.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.

In addition to Filipowski’s individual recognition, the NBA named its First and Second All-Summer League Teams. The First Team included:

  • Kyle Filipowski (Jazz)
  • Nique Clifford (Kings)
  • David Jones-Garcia (Spurs)
  • Jordan Miller (Clippers)
  • Terrence Shannon Jr. (Timberwolves)

The Second Team featured:

  • Ron Holland (Pistons)
  • Isaac Jones (Kings)
  • Kon Knueppel (Hornets)
  • Ajay Mitchell (Thunder)
  • KJ Simpson (Hornets)

Several players from the Summer League championship game were also honored. The Kings — represented by Clifford and Jones — and the Hornets — represented by Knueppel and Simpson — had multiple selections. Kon Knueppel, a rookie, was named the championship game MVP after leading the Hornets to an 83-78 victory over the Kings.

Filipowski’s standout Summer League performance and accompanying honors spotlight his growth and potential as he heads into his sophomore NBA season.
