Jiujitsu: Guggenheim submits Indonesian for gold; Ramirez shines vs. Malaysia

December 10, 2019 – Two Filipino fighters secure two more gold medals in the final day of jiujitsu at the LAUS Convention Center in Clark.

Adrian Guggenheim dominates in the men’s under-77 kilogram event, which he go undefeated from the quarterfinals on.

Guggenheim locked a tight submission maneuver, an armbar, against Indonesian opponent Willy, which the latter tapped out.

Annie Ramirez clinched the second gold after going the distance with Malaysia’s Cassandra J Poyong in the women’s under-55 kilogram event.

Ramirez won against the Sabah native, three points to none, contributing another metal to the Philippine’s medal basket.

Luigi Ladera meanwhile secured the silver medals while Peter Lawrence Meimban and Apryl Jessica Eppinger took the bronze on the same day.

The Philippines ended the jiujitsu campaign first overall with five gold medals, with three medals each in silver and bronze.
