Jomary Torres’ fight vs. Taiwanese foe declared no contest

MANILA — The first fight scheduled at ONE: Fire and Fury on Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City was called off.

The showdown between Jomary Torres and Chinese Taipei’s Jenny Huang was abruptly stopped due to the former getting hit at the groin area twice.

Both Torres and Huang went on an exchange of strikes before Huang accidentally hit a knee to Torres’ groin area, forcing referee Kemp Cheng to call an injury timeout.

Torres decided to continue, but after another low blow by Huang, she could not continue on, forcing Cheng to give Huang the yellow card and declare the fight a no contest.

In the next fight, Thailand’s Rodlek Jaotalaytong defeated Scotland’s Chris Shaw in a muay Thai contest via unanimous decision. (PNA)
