December 10, 2019 – Jean Claude Saclag ends the kickboxing tournament with a gold medal for the Philippines at the Cuneta Astrodome on Tuesday.
Saclag defeated Malaysian bet Mohammed Mahmoud after going the distance in the men’s under-63.5 kilogram low kick finals.
Saclag showed dominance throughout the entire bout, not letting his Malaysian foe gather any momentum at any round.
The Filipino drew more kicks and punches than Mahmoud, earning him all 3-0 scores per round.
It was the second gold for kickboxing in the Philippines at Tuesday after Gina Iniong defeated Apichaya Mingkwan of Thailand in the women’s under-55 kilogram kicklight finals.
