Manny Pacquiao’s adoration for the NBA and his particular affection for the Boston Celtics have been widely known and discussed.

As the sole eight-division champion in boxing history, Pacquiao shares a camaraderie with basketball star Steph Curry. In fact, the Filipino icon once enjoyed a friendly game at the Golden State Warriors’ facility.

Pacquiao’s relationship with the NBA extends beyond Curry. He has had the pleasure of meeting several prominent NBA figures, including Kevin Garnett and Kawhi Leonard. Notably, the Los Angeles Clippers honored Pacquiao with a personalized jersey a few years ago. Furthermore, he has engaged in signed item exchanges with Derrick Rose and Anthony Davis.

With the highly anticipated 2023 NBA Finals almost upon us, it seems that the People’s Champ has a clear team to support: the Boston Celtics. That is, of course, if the Celtics manage to triumph over the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday. Pacquiao’s unwavering love for the Boston Celtics has been extensively documented. Recently, he signed a pair of boxing gloves for Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown.

To facilitate the signing, MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons played an instrumental role and will personally deliver the item to Jaylen once he concludes the season, hopefully, adorned with a championship ring. Interestingly, Jaylen’s father, Marselles Brown, a towering figure at 7 feet, was a former world boxing champion. It seems that Jaylen inherited both his father’s resilience and remarkable wingspan, qualities that have contributed to his success as a Celtics guard.

As it turns out, Marselles Brown, in addition to his boxing career, is the proprietor of New Champ boxing promotion and a business associate of Gibbons.
