December 5, 2019 – Indonesia puts another gold medal in their bag as one of their two contingents claims the gold medal in women’s beach laser individual category of modern pentathlon with ease.
Dea Salsaliba Putri cleared the course in just 15 minutes and 23 seconds en route to a first-place finish at the Subic Bay Boardwalk.
Putri was almost a minute ahead of second placer Natpapat Sangngio, as the Thai athlete finished the event in 16 minutes and 17 seconds.
Shermaine Tung of Singapore claimed the bronze medal as she completed the course within 16 minutes and 29 seconds.
Both Putri and Tung will participate in the mixed beach laser relay event to conclude the first day of modern pentathlon in the 30th SEA Games.
