December 5, 2019 – Indonesia seize another gold as Muhammad Taufik emerged the best in men’s beach laser individual category in modern pentathlon held at the Subic Bay Boardwalk.
Taufik finished the course in 13 minutes and two seconds, putting himself ahead with a good margin against his closest competitor.
Samuel German ended with silver for host Philippines after finishing the course within 13 minutes and 27 seconds.
Singapore’s Ming Wei Marcus Ong completed the podium as he clinched the bronze medal in 13 minutes and 34 seconds, seven seconds behind German.
Ong will compete in the mixed relay to complete the first day of modern pentathlon in the biennial meet.
