The Houston Rockets remained win-less on the road this season, a streak that stretched to eight when they fell to the Los Angeles Lakers, 107-97, on Saturday.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James provided the one-two punch at the Crypto.com Arena. Davis, whose play has been erratic this season, had 27 points and 14 rebounds while James finished with 16 points and 7 assists.

The rest of the Lakers starters also provided meaningful reinforcement as Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish and D’Angelo Russell combined for 31 points. Austin Reaves added 18 and Max Christie chipped in 12 off the bench.

Rockets coach Ime Udoka provided an unusual lowlight for Houston when he was ejected at the 8:35 mark of the fourth quarter. Udoka, who previously coached the Boston Celtics, received a second technical foul after getting into it with James. who was also whistled with a technical foul.

“We had a conversation and they didn’t like what they (the referees) heard,” Udoka said.

Other than Udoka’s mild outburst, the Rockets didn’t muster much firepower on offense. They shot just 40.4 percent from the field (36-of-89) and 35.5 percent from 3-point land (11-of-31).

Veteran Fred Van Fleet had 22 and 7 assists for the Rockets and Alperen Senguin accounted for 21 and 13 boards.
