LOS ANGELES — The Boston Celtics emerged victorious in a sea of green on the Clippers’ home court on Saturday night,145-108.

Celtics forward Jayson Tatum rolled his left ankle with 4:19 left in the second quarter after landing on Kobe Brown, who fouled him on a three-point shot. After resting on the ground for a beat, he got up uninjured and sank the free throw, converting the four-point play and taking Boston’s lead to 59-40.

The Clippers attempted to rally during the 2nd quarter but fell short and ended up trailing for the remainder of the game. The Clippers struggled with both defense and offense, shooting only 46.1% from the floor and 32.4% from the three.

Despite missing Kawhi Leonard due to a left hip contusion, Paul George notched 21 points, James Harden scored 14, and Ivica Zubac finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Clippers.

However, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Celtics’ dominance. Jayson Tatum, despite his earlier injury scare, finished with 30 points. Jaylen Brown added 24, and Neemias Queta notched a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

“While satisfied with the win, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla made a point of not resting on his team’s laurels. “I do not consider it a statement win,” Mazzulla said. “I consider it a win (and) an opportunity where we played well and continue to figure out where we didn’t play well.

Following this win, the Celtics’ next game is against the Lakers in LA on Christmas Day. The Clippers hope to redeem themselves in their next game when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday.
