NBA: LA Clippers Outlast Utah Jazz By Five Points

INGLEWOOD — James Harden carded 20 points and 11 assists to lead the Los Angeles Clippers past the Utah Jazz,116-105, on Sunday night at the Intuit Dome.

Harden had an efficient 7-of-14 shooting from the field, including 2-of-8 from long distance to catapult him into the history books, climbing to No.2 in the all-time list of 3-pointers made. He also added 6 rebounds to his haul in 34 minutes of play.

Ivica Zubac also powered the Los Angeles offense with 22 points and 11 rebounds while Norman Powell added 19 as the Clippers shot a high 48.9 percent from the field (46-of-94) to snap a three-game losing streak.

“Taking care of the basketball was huge,” Clippers coach Tyronn Lue told reporters of his team’s nine turnovers against Utah’s 19.

The Clips, who improved to 7-7 after dropping three games below .500, also dominated the assists battle 30-24.

“The ball was moving, the ball was hopping, We made the right plays,” Lue added.

Lauri Markannen paced the Jazz with 18 points and 19 rebounds while Jordan Clarkson contributed 21 off the bench. But the Jazz couldn’t catch-up with the Clippers who raced to a 66-45 halftime lead.

The loss kept Utah in the bottom of the Western Conference standings with a 3-10 record.
