ORLANDO — New York Knick Jalen Brunson exploded for 41 points on 14-22 shooting but it was not enough to outlast the Miami Heat in this Game 6 against the Miami Heat this Friday at Kaseya Center in Miami, 96-92.

This elimination game was fought tooth and nail all the way through. “It was a battle,” Heat guard Kyle Lowry said. “A Tom Thibodeau-coached team, they’re always going to play hard.”

After the game, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau had high praise for the Heat: “Congratulations to the Heat, to the organization, to the coaching staff, Spo and Pat Riley and all their players.”

The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler’s 24 points and eight rebounds. Bam Adebayo was right behind him with 23 points and nine rebounds. Kyle Lowry added 11 points off the bench.

With this victory, the No. 8 Miami Heat, who entered the playoffs as a play-in team, are returning to the Eastern Conference Finals for three years in a row.

Julius Randle notched 15 points on only 3-14 shooting from the field. Josh Hart and RJ Barrett both scored 11 points.
