DAVAO CITY — Southpaw Joe “Jaw Breaker” Noynay of Cebu will defend his World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific super featherweight title on December 7 against Kenichi Ogawa at the Korakuen Hall in Japan.
The 24-year-old Noynay (18W-2L-1D, 7KO) retained his title against Satoshi Shimizu of Japan by a 6th round TKO last July 12 in EDION Arena in Osaka, Japan.
Last April, Noynay won the vacant WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight title by a TKO against Kosuke Saka of Japan in the 2nd round also at EDION Arena.
Ogawa, on the other hand, has 24 wins with 18 knockouts against one loss. The 31-year-old orthodox had two successful comeback fights in 2019 after a short vacation in 2018.
He first made a comeback with a unanimous decision over Roldan Aldea of Manila last Feb. 2, 2019 in Korakuen Hall.
Ogawa then retired Glenn Medura of Zamboanga in the 4th round last July 6 also at Korakuen Hall.
