PBA: TNT tops Dyip, Parks fires 40 points

TNT Tropang Giga secured their second win of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup against the TerreFirma Dyip, 112-101, with the help of Ray Parks finishing with 40 points.

TNT capitalized on their big men to start the game as Poy Erram and Troy Rosario combined 12 of the teams 27 first-quarter points to lead by 9 points heading to the next period.

It was Ray Parks turn to crack at Dyip’s defense and he tallied 15 points at the end of the first half pushing Giga’s lead even further to 12 points.

CJ Perez tries to bring his team back in contention but Parks continues his offensive barrage in the third quarter. Perez at this point has 27 points while Parks rises up to 28.

Tropang Giga kept TerraFirma at bay as they countered their attacks and prevented a run from happening. They held on to the lead and their second win in the tournament by 11 points.

Ray Parks had a double-double with 40 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and seven three-pointers. Troy Rosario followed through with a double-double as well doing 20 points and 15 boards.

Jayson Castro came off the bench this time and registered 15 points while Poy Erram had a better performance with 14.

On the other side of the fence, CJ Perez led the team with 30 points, six rebounds and three steals. Glen Khobuntin racked up 16 points while JP Calvo and Rashawn McCarthy each had 14.

Rookie Roosevelt Adams had 7 points, ten boards and a steal in his PBA debut.

Both teams will have two days of rest and will be entering the court once again on October 6, Friday. TerraFirma will be battling Rain or Shine Elasto Painters while on the second game, TNT Tropang Giga has the defending champions San Miguel Beermen.
