PH first SEA Games medal to come from polo

MANILA — The first Philippine medal for the Southeast Asian Games will come from polo.

The Philippines is now assured of at least a silver in the mixed 4-6 goal competition of the SEA Games polo event after clinching a seat in the final on Thursday at the Miguel Romero Polo Field in Calatagan, Batangas.

The Philippine team drubbed Indonesia, 6-4.5, in their final preliminary round meeting, giving the Philippines the top seed and the first spot in the championship game.

The Philippines will face Malaysia, which stole the last final spot from Brunei with an 8-5.5 win in the other match, in the final on Sunday. (PNA)
