MANILA – The newest professional basketball league — the Pilipinas Super League– will be the main topic in the fifth “Sports On Air Weekly” program via Zoom on Friday, Feb. 11.
Pilipinas Super League president Rocky Chan, vice president Ray Alao and PBA legend-commissioner Marc Pingris will talk about the new league scheduled to kick off with 10 teams next month.
Among the teams expected to battle it out are the Davao Occidental Dumper Tigers-Cocolife, Cagayan Valley Golden Eagles, Basilan BRT, Kapatagan Buffalos, Pagadian Explorers, and Bicol Express Oragons.
This is the fifth episode of “Sports On Air Weekly”, the newest sports program managed by sports journalists Ed Andaya of People’s Tonight, Ernest Leo Hernandez of SOA, Gerard Arce of Bulgar, Ivan Saldajeno of Philippine News Agency, Gab Ferreras of Sports Corner PH and Danny Simon of Police Files Tonite.
Past “Sports On Air” guests were PBA commissioner Willie Marcial and Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas president Monico Puentevella last Jan. 14; Games and Amusements Board chairman Baham Mitra and Philippine Olympic Committee chairman Steve Hontiveros last Jan. 21; Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) commissioner and SEA Games chef de mission Ramon Fernandez last Jan. 28; and Philippine Racing Commission Chairman Reli de Leon and PBA coaches Ariel Vanguardia of Blackwater, Chris Gavina of Rain or Shine and Renzy Bajar of NorthPort last Feb. 4.
