Rowing: Cris Nievarez drives Philippines’ to Gold in Men’s Single Sculls Category

December 7, 2019- The Philippine’s came out on top as the heart of Cris Nievarez led him to the coveted Gold Medal finish in the Lighweight Single Sculls Category of Men’s Rowing on Saturday at the Triboa Bay, Subic for the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Nievarez recorded a time of 7:34.27 putting him at a nail-biting .740 second differencial over Silver Medalist Siripong Chaiwitchitchonkul of Thailand.

Thailand’s gunner tallied a time of 7:35.01 to finish second.

Kakan Kusmana of Indonesia finished with a Bronze Medal performance tallying a time of 7:39.54 seconds.
