MANILA — San Miguel and NorthPort stunned the Philippine Basketball Association fans on Monday after pulling off a straight-up 1-on-1 trade regarding former number one picks.
The Beermen acquired Mo Tautuaa from the Batang Pier in exchange for Chris Standhardinger.
At SMB, Tautuaa will now act as a new backup center for Junemar Fajardo with an option for Coach Leo Austria to utilize the 2015 top pick as a stretch four alongside Fajardo as he can spread the floor with his outside game.
Standhardinger, meanwhile, will have a fresh restart to his career with NorthPort after his minutes began to diminish with the arrival of Kelly Nabong.
Tautuaa will debut for the Beermen on Sunday night when they take on the Columbian Dyip at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The Batang Pier will return to action on Oct. 23, interestingly against the Beermen at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City
