CHICAGO — Sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic, Jordan Clarkson’s Elite Basketball Camp returned with a flurry this past July 7 and 8 at the Draft Sports Complex in sunny Corona, California.
Some 60 kids — no younger than 5th graders and none older than 8th graders — took part in the two-game hoops bonanza where the Utah Jazz star and former NBA Sixth Man of the Year imparted his knowledge of the game.
After the festivities,Jordan spent time with the kids taking selfies and signing jerseys.
Jordan’s dad, Mike Clarkson, served as camp director while Shannon Sharpe was the camp coordinator.
“After a two-year hiatus, it was so fulfilling to return to the gym and see smiling faces again,” Mike Clarkson said.
“The kids were very enthusiastic and competed throughout. To Jordan’s credit, he spent plenty of time teaching and even scrimmaging with the campers during the second day of camp. It was a huge success and we look forward to returning next year.
