DALLAS – As he prepares to defend his WBO bantamweight tile against seasoned veteran Guillermo Rigondeaux of Cuba, Filipino sensation John Riel Casimero opened Day 1 of his training camp.

And despite being inactive since September 26 last year when he made easy work of challenger Duka Micah via TKO, Casimero (30-4, 21 KOs) looked sharp and ready to rumble.

Never lacking in confidence, the muderous punching 32-year old from Ormoc, Philippines has preciously vowed to knock out the 40-year old Rigondeaux inside of six rounds.

“It will be easy work,” he told Powcast Sports a few months back.

On fight night, he is determined to back up his words with power atop the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Sean Gibbons, the president of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, shares his pug’s soaring confidence and believes that Casimero will keep his belt and continue his pursit of Naoya Inoue of Japan.

Let the Monster-hunt begin.
