LOS ANGELES — The longing for Houston Rockets star Jalen Green to play for Gilas Pilipinas will have to wait, if ever.

“Maybe. I gotta try to achieve the US first,” the 6-foot-4, 188-pound guard told Sports On Air on Sunday night at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California where Green’s Rockets played the host Clippers.

Since bolting in the NBA as the No.2 overall pick in the 2021 draft, there have been much speculation if Green, whose mother is Filipina, will lend his talents to the Philippine national team.

Following some light he shed on the matter, said rumors should be put to rest for now. But if there’s any consolation, the 22-year old shooter plans to visit the Philippines “soon” while adding that he had been to the country three times already.

Houston currently sits third overall in the Western Conference but with the way the Rockets are hooping lately Green is confident “we can beat anybody.”
