Both teams started out slow in the first quarter but Gilas Pilipinas got an early boost from RJ Abarrientos coming off the bench providing immediately with 5 points. Indonesia enters the second quarter down by four.
Back-and-forth action in the second period but the Philippines was able to pad up the lead with the help of Dwight Ramos and Justine Baltazar combining for 11 points. Gilas Pilipinas leads by eight by the half.
Philippines started to pull away from the Indonesian squad with Ange Kouame and Kai Sotto getting in the scoring picture. Ramos and Baltazar continued their attack with Gilas Pilipinas lead ballooning to 15 points heading to the final period.
Indonesia didn’t put up much of a fight in the fourth quarter as Gilas Pilipinas coasted to a 25-point victory.
Baltazar led the team with 11 pounts and nine rebounds while Ange Kouame also had 11 of his own. Ramos dominated the boards with a dozen along with 10 points and three steals.
Lester Prosper of Indonesia led all scorers with 22 [pomts amd eight rebounds.
Gilas Pilipinas hopes to complete the FIBA ACQ qualifying leg sweep as they close out with South Korea on Sunday, June 20 at 3pm.
