On October 15th a
delegation of Chilean pork companies travelled to Manila to celebrate ChilePork’s fourth annual event in the
Philippines, with the goal of further strengthening the presence of Chilean
pork in the local market and culinary scene.

The gathering, organized by
the Chilean Meat Exporters Association (ChileCarne) under its sector brand ChilePork, brought together more than 110 guests, including Chefs, importers, and representatives from
the Filipino gastronomic sector, who enjoyed an exclusive gala dinner.

Menu of the event

The evening began with
welcoming remarks by Mr. Pedro Pizarro, Consul of Chile in the Philippines, who
put the focus on the relationships between Chile and Philippines and the
continuous efforts of pork companies in getting established on the Filipino
market.

After this, Mr. Roberto Umali,
Exceutive Director of the National Meat Inspection Service, took the stage to
highlight the quality of the Chilean pork meat and its good performance on the
safety and biosecurity areas.

Next, Mr. Juan Carlos Domínguez, President of the
Chilean Meat Exporters Association, ChileCarne, took the stage to share key
information about Chile and its export-oriented vision: “Four years ago, we began exporting pork and chicken to the Philippines,
and today it is a market that is becoming well established. More than two
containers leave Chile daily for this market. The Philippines is the gateway to
ASEAN, and we hope to carry out similar activities in Vietnam and Indonesia in
the near future,”
Mr. Domínguez emphasized.

Live cooking show

On the second part of the
event, guests were treated to a live
cooking show in hands of the culinary team of the Grand Hyatt Manila,
who prepared step by step dishes where the pork was the main ingredient and
then served them for the attendance to taste it and get to know more about the
Chilean pork.

With this event and the fourth
consecutive annual visit to the Philippines, ChilePork reaffirms its commitment to promoting Chilean pork in
the country, highlighting the main features of the product: its versatility, healthy, and high-quality
product, capable of captivating the most discerning palates and
strengthening its position as a premium choice in the Filipino market.
