As the 2023 FIBA World Cup draws near, the excitement among basketball fans continues to grow. The United States, known for its rich basketball tradition, has always assembled a star-studded roster for international competitions.

NBA All-Stars Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards are the biggest names to commit to Team USA so far. They will be joined by Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves, Brooklyn Nets forward Mikal Bridges and Milwaukee Bucks center Bobby Portis.

Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, Mikal Bridges, and Bobby Portis have pledged their commitment to represent Team USA in the upcoming tournament according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Mark Stein also reports that Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks has been added to the list of committed players for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

This will be the first Team USA roster assembled under Grant Hill’s tenure as Team USA Managing Director. The Americans are facing Jordan, Greece and New Zealand in Group D at the MOA Arena in the Philippines.

Multiple reports indicate that Memphis Grizzlies Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane and Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso were recruited by Team USA but have yet to confirm their commitments.

Unlike in the past, Team USA won’t hold any tryouts according to Hill and will speed up the selection process by naming 12 players to be coached by Golden State Warriors’ Steve Kerr.
