Men’s bowling: Indonesian tandem takes gold in doubles event

December 4, 2019 – Indonesia snatches the gold in the men’s doubles event on the second day of bowling competitions at the Coronado Lanes in Starmall EDSA Mandaluyong City.

Billy Muhammad Islam and Hardy Rachmadian finished in the first place for Indonesia after garnering a combined total of 2,592 pinfalls.

Islam and Rachmadian tallied a combined score of 426 pinfalls in the sixth round to turn the tide in their favor.

Thailand’s Atchariya Cheng and Surasak Manuwong settled for the silver with 2,566 pinfalls.

The two led the tournament after five sets but only tallied 370 pinfalls combined in round 6, prompting the Indonesian duo to catch up.

Al-Hakim Tun Luqman and Muhammad Raqif Ismail gave Malaysia a bronze medal after getting 2,556 pinfalls combined.

Luqman and Ismail registred 434 combined points in the final round but fell ten short to catch the Thai duo.

Several athletes from the men’s doubles will see action in the mixed doubles event tomorrow.
