LOS ANGELES — The triple-double express train that is Russell Westbrook just keeps on chugging along.
Now playing for Denver, the former Clipper and UCLA alum notched his 200th career triple-double on Tuesday night following the Nuggets’ 122-110 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum.
Westbrook’s latest iteration of the statistical triple happiness came in the form of 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists. He brushed the hardwood masterpiece across 35 minutes of playing time.
Already No.1 on the 3-D list, Westbrook padded his lead over Hall-of-Famer Oscar Robertson by 19 and by 62 over third-placer Magic Johnson, also a Hall-of-Famer and leader of the Showtime Lakers of the late 80s and mid 90s.
“I’m blessed,” Westbrook told reporters after achieving the milestone. Obviously, he’s gifted, too.
Now 36 years old and entering his 16th NBA season, Russ has collected a plethora of accolades, including a league MVP crown (2017), 9 All-Star nods, and a pair of scoring titles (2015, 2017).
Who knows?
