NBA: Ja Morant Suspended Again For Flashing Gun Live On Social Media

The Memphis Grizzlies have taken the decision to suspend Ja Morant from all team activities following the circulation of a video on social media that seemingly depicts the star guard holding a firearm. This incident comes just two months after Morant was suspended by the NBA due to a similar occurrence. The team released a statement on Sunday announcing the suspension, pending a league review, but did not offer any further comments on the matter.

The video in question, which has been since removed from Instagram, captures Morant seated in the front passenger seat of a car while holding what appears to be a gun in his left hand. The exact timing of the video remains unclear.

As of now, the NBA has not made any public statements regarding this particular situation.

It is worth noting that Morant voluntarily left the Grizzlies in March to enroll in a counseling program subsequent to a separate incident where he was filmed holding a firearm at a club in Denver while the team was in town to face the Nuggets. Following a meeting with NBA commissioner Adam Silver, Morant received an eight-game suspension, with Silver denouncing his behavior as “irresponsible, reckless, and potentially very dangerous.”

During an interview with ESPN at the time of his suspension, Morant expressed awareness of the stakes involved and acknowledged the need for increased responsibility
