Pencak Silat: Zulfakar nips Kusumah for Malaysian gold

December 5, 2019 – Zulfazly Zulfakar delivers for Malaysia as he win the gold medal match in the tanding class D event of pencak silat.

Zulfakar defeated 2018 Asian Games champion Hanifan Kusumah of Indonesia, 3-2, to grab the first-place finish inside Subic Bay Exhibit and Convention Center.

Nguyen Ngoc Toan from Vietnam and 2018 Asian Games bronze medalist Adilan Chemaeng from Thailand completed the podium.

Both Nguyen and Chemaeng suffered close defeats at the hands of Zulfakar and Kusumah, respectively, ending with the bronze medal.
