Women’s Badminton: Thailand edge out Indonesia, 3-1

December 3, 2019 – Thailand snatches the first medal for badminton after defeating Indonesia in the finals of the team event at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex.

Ratchanok Intanon delivers the first set for the Thais, defeating Indonesian opponent Gregoria Tunjung two games to one.

The team-up of Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istarani and Apriyani Rahayu evens the match for Indonesia in the second set.

The Indonesians swept the Thai tandem of Rawinda Prajongjai and Puttita Supajirakul in two games, 21-17, 21-18.

Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan brought the lead back to them after sweeping opponent Fitriani with a 21-8, 21-10 performance.

It was the tandem of Chayanit Chaladchalam and Phataimas Muenwong that sealed the deal for the Thais.

Thw two have defeated Indonesia’s Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Ribka Sugiarto in two straight sets, 21-8, 21-17.

Malaysia and Singapore teams meanwhile take the bronze medals after losing the semifinals match against the two finalists.
